Ian Booth

After I retired from life as a professional microbiologist, I determined that the photography I had enjoyed while working would become one of my foci. I had invested in my first digital camera in 2005 and, after retirement, upgraded to better Canon models with their accompanying lenses. To improve my compositional skills I have undertaken several workshops on landscape photography with a number of different tutors. One of my most significant photographic pleasures is to have a period of focused photography shared with other enthusiasts. My interests are now primarily with landscape and nature photography, employing both macro and 'normal' lenses. I am primarily based in the northeast of Scotland, which affords me many opportunities for diverse landscapes. I also travel to Finland regularly and so I have encountered new challenges there. I am a member of two informal photography groups who work together, and separately, to improve our image making and processing using Lightroom and Photoshop.
