Don Hoekwater
Don Hoekwater is an award-winning digital artist located in the San Francisco Bay Area, one of the most scenic areas in the world. He takes full advantage of his location, photographing gorgeous coastlines, forests, and mountains, among the other gifts nature has bestowed upon this area. Don's been capturing the world for over 30 years. After graduating with a degree in photojournalism from San Jose State University, he went into sports photography. He and a few friend started a magazine covering University of Michigan athletics, which allowed him to get on the field for several Rose Bowls and other top college and high school events. He then became publisher of another magazine covering sports at his alma-mater. But something was lacking, and in 2010 Don took the plunge into more creative and artistic aspects of photography and digital art, realizing the area in which he lived offered the opportunity to capture and share some of the most majestic and awe-inspiring views on Earth. Now he specializes in fine art landscapes not only from California, but across the U.S. and the world.
