As Canadian snowbirds, the wife and I often travel Highway 101 through Washington, Oregon, and California on our way to southern Arizona. On this day, as we approached central Oregon, a storm with heavy winds and rain developed. The wind was strong enough that my 35-foot motor home became hard to handle. When I spotted a pull-off up ahead, I pulled over and parked.
When I was stopped and looked around, I could see all these sea stacks covered in fog. It was a composition that called to be photographed. I put my 24-105mm lens on my 6D Mark II, made the necessary adjustments, put them under my raincoat, and went outside. To escape the strong wind, I moved to the lee side of the motor home. I was able to capture this image, handheld. This image is the result of that experience.
