Friends of mine had been a couple for many years; they decided to marry. True to form, they made a big occasion of the event. We live in Kent, SE England; however, they decided to “run away” to Gretna Green in Scotland. Family and friends gathered in Lorton in the Lake District before traveling en masse in a coach to Gretna Green. We all stayed there for 5 days.

I was asked to capture the (long) event by the couple; I was very happy to do so. During the stay, we had plenty of time and opportunity to explore the local area. This photo was taken when on one of our walks. It is a view of Buttermere, with a typical dry stone wall and rustic gates in frame. The sun even shone for us.
