The Dark Hedges in Northern Ireland are quite famous and have been photographed many times. When I visited, I arrived early on a Sunday morning to avoid the many visitors who flock to this site.
Overcast skies diffused the light, and occasional light rain wet the pavement. I wandered up and down the lane, capturing images from various vantage points, trying different compositions and exposures.
Very few people were on the lane while I was there, but I did duck behind a tree to get out of another photographer’s frame. He returned the favor as I captured this image, which I selected as the best composition of the photos I took that morning.
