This was the first of many visits I’ve made to the Orra Phelps Nature Preserve. It’s a beautiful, peaceful preserve where the Little Snook Kill stream flows gently through the landscape.
The preserve was established by Dr. Orra Phelps, a well-known naturalist who spent years exploring the Adirondack region. She authored several nature guidebooks and contributed journal articles to publications such as Adirondack High Peaks.
