I spent two months traveling across the US in a van with my partner, Aileen. One of our favorite places to visit, as we had in the past for business, is Tucson in southern Arizona (we used to sell high-quality mineral specimens, and Tucson is considered the proper capital of such an interest).

During our previous visit, we explored the west side of the park in the morning. We experienced poor light on account of waking up late and not knowing where to go. Since then, I had wanted to capture the saguaro and jumping cacti in the proper orange Arizona glow.

We arrived at the east park a couple of minutes before sunset and did not hike too far up the path. We reached a ridge overlooking the city and the Santa Catalina Mountains (out of frame to the right), and this was taken there. It was a good day and a wonderful evening.
