This is a medium format film (Fuji Velvia 100) photograph from 2007; I traveled to New Mexico for photography work in December–January. The previous day there was a storm, and on the morning of this photograph the desert had a special feeling, a muted glow.
I hiked for some time to think about a composition, honestly overwhelmed by nature’s beauty, mindful of how long the light might last. I “scanned” this film using my Fuji GFX 100S camera with my Hasselblad HC 120mm Macro lens on a Negative Supply stand with a medium format film kit and Capture One software.
