Early Winter Reflections, Strathcona Park, Vancouver Island, BC, Canada

Thelwood Creek, located in Strathcona Park and flowing into Buttle Lake on Vancouver Island, is one of my favorite places to photograph. I visit the area during all four seasons. At this time, in January, I was there to find some winter scenes. Although not much snow was seen, there was an abundance of fall colours. This image was taken where the creek enters the lake. The reflections of the mountain, trees, and surrounding brush on the calm water caught my attention.

Adjusting my position to give me the best composition, I set up my tripod, attached my Canon 70D with a Canon 24-105L lens, made the necessary adjustments to ensure a print-quality image, and took the shot.

Once at home and uploading the image to Lightroom, I became aware that I did make all the correct choices.
