I was visiting Joshua Tree National Park as part of my winter getaway. As I live on Vancouver Island, Canada, I became a snowbird after retirement. I now spend my winters in Arizona and California. It was on one of these trips that I spent the day in Joshua Tree Park. After spending most of the day photographing all the interesting rock formations, I took a road that seemed to be going up a hill. At the top of the hill, I spotted this dead juniper standing all alone.
The view from here was breathtaking. I got my camera, lens, and tripod and walked around until I selected this composition. This image is the result of my effort to capture an image worthy of a print.
