Split Sky, Cook Inlet, Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska, USA

I arrived at the beach just before sunrise to look for bears. While waiting, the sun began to rise. The sun rose behind the clouds, giving off a glorious set of colours. I had my camera set up on a tripod so I could shoot with a long exposure. Once I saw the different colours in the sky, I knew I had to take a photo. I wasn’t sure if the camera settings were correct to capture what I call a “Split Sky,” with a defined split in the colours in the clouds. Much to my surprise, it worked out perfectly.
