My 24-day trip to New Zealand was coming to an end. I was making my way up the South Island and had planned to stop at a couple of waterfalls.
Leaving the van at the parking I walked the path to the falls under pouring rain.
It had been raining for the last few days, so my mood wasn’t the best. Nevertheless, New Zealand is a country that is beautiful in pretty much every condition, at least for me.
The path followed the stream in the luxurious rain forest and then climbed up to a ledge right in front of the fall.
I set up my camera, took a couple of test shots, and found a composition I liked, but the light was simply not there. Anyway, I decided to wait and be ready as the rain was receding.
Suddenly, the clouds opened up, and light filled the scene. I managed to take two shots, and the light was gone.
It’s easy to stay in and not go out shooting when the conditions are not promising, but in the end, you miss all the shots you do not take.
