Over the years, I have been blessed with the opportunity to explore and photograph some of the most beautiful places on earth. My desire to capture dramatic landscapes in beautiful light has motivated me to travel far and wide, and the thrill of reviewing and processing my images is always rewarding.

The financial burden of such travel limits the number of adventures I can take each year, so my challenge is to find beauty in nature close to home. Searching for intimate landscapes is one way to capture interesting subjects. Another is to use creative techniques to create images that show beauty in a unique way. Two techniques that I use most often are camera motion and in-camera multiple exposure.

The subject in this photograph is a cherry tree in bloom at a local park. I used my Canon 5D Mark IV and a 24-105 mm lens. The 5D has a multiple exposure feature that allows me to take up to nine images that are combined in the camera, creating a unique artistic effect. As I hit the shutter button, I moved the camera slightly until all nine shots were completed.
