Snow At Loch Clair, Western Highlands, Scotland

We had not expected snow in November, but it provided another dimension to many of the locations in the Western Highlands, which we were due to visit.

Snow and ice also made driving conditions more challenging. This morning, our original route was blocked, so we made our way to Loch Clair.

While some fellow photographers made their way down to the edges of the Loch in quite deep snow, I decided to stay on the roadside and work different angles and compositions.

The breeze picked up a little, sending ripples scurrying across the water, creating mysterious reflections. I liked this composition, with the small island appearing like a sailing dinghy blown across the loch by the breeze.
