In Diyarbakir, one of Turkey’s warmest cities, the heaviest snowfall in 53 years has left many animals in distress in the Hevsel World Cultural Heritage gardens adjacent to the city. Smaller bird species, in particular, have sought refuge in snow-free areas. The photograph shows a White Wagtail searching for food on the snow.
