Sunrise and fog interact in wonderful ways in Wyoming’s Teton Valley. Temperature changes swell and burn fog that changes quickly and slowly at the same time. The landscape interplays with these changing conditions and provides small windows for unique scenes.
Near the flats of Kelly, Wyoming, are a few scattered trees that have lived and talked among themselves in the vastness of the sage fields. They bore witness to the sun subdued by the fogs on this breathless, cool morning. Moving through the thigh-high spiny sage to compose the scene was arduous, but the camera led me without argument, as it so often does.
