I was exploring Hudson Crossing Park one afternoon. The park is so named because this location has been used for crossing the Hudson River for millions of years, from early Native Americans to railroad bridges to modern vehicular bridges. There are a couple of lines of concrete piers across this portion of the river, remnants of old railroad tracks that no longer exist.
I ventured to the north end of the park, where the Northumberland Dam separates the river from the Champlain Canal and Lock C5. This photo looks northwest, with the dam out of the frame to the right and the canal to the left.
