Reichenbach Falls, known for the final altercation between Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s hero Sherlock Holmes and his greatest foe, Professor Moriarty, in “The Final Problem,” forms a breathtaking landscape, even in summer when the intensity of the water current is lower.
Successive waterfalls, some higher and some lower, generate a permanent mist in the area and a powerful, low sound that captivates our attention.
This photograph was taken at one of the lower waterfalls, which is nonetheless impressive due to the enormous amount of water rushing past us at great speed. Be very careful not to fall into the water!
The camera was in manual mode and mounted on a tripod. Using a low shutter speed, I obtained this image, which seems to convey the powerful and endless motion of the water. Post-processing of the raw file was minimal.
