The holiest lake of Tibet and also considered to be the world’s highest fresh-water lake, Lake Manasarovar is in the far western Tibet, Ngari Prefecture, near the Mighty Mount Kailash. It is located at an elevation of 4,600 m (15,100 ft), near the western trijunction between China, India and Nepal.
This picture was shot from a high ground to capture the full expanse of the lake. Actually, it is a composite of two pictures stitched together to form a panoramic view. The area is semi-desert, with vegetation limited to what is seen in the foreground.
