The Varovitetz Waterfall is located beneath a monastery near Etropole, Bulgaria, deep in the mountains. It looks especially beautiful in the spring and summer. There is a small area in front of the waterfall where visitors can stand. When I visited in the summer a few years ago, I almost got wet while taking photos nearby.
A local man told me that in winter, the waterfall freezes and forms stunning icicles. Intrigued by this, I decided to return during the winter. In February, I visited again and used my wide-angle lens to capture images just beneath the frozen waterfall.
