We took this road trip some years ago on our visit to Denver to attend a conference. Trail Ridge Road is one of the most spectacular drives in the US, taking you to an elevation of 12183 feet (at the Alpine visitor center) where the Rocky Mountain range stretches out into the distance. It is a treacherous road to drive in snowy conditions. Fortunately for us, the snow started falling as we got to the Alpine visitor center.
