On a special evening after a visit to Thunder Bay, Ontario, I spent that weekend with my significant other to celebrate our anniversary a few months early. We met here at Kakabeka Falls for the first time in 2023, and since then, it has been a special place for us both. The atmosphere smelled of campfire, and it was quite calming. We had a great time taking a stroll down memory lane here.
As the sun set, the waterfalls blended in harmony with the evening sky. The falls were flowing due to recent rainfall from a few days prior. I personally have never seen these falls at this time of day. It was just magical to see. I tried many different compositions, but I was searching for something unique. I then focused on a certain section of the falls to highlight some of its features. I sat on this image for a while, thinking that it wasn’t much of a good shot once I saw it on my laptop.
Eventually, I decided to revisit this image and tinker with it a bit. The results, as you see, have brought out what I saw that evening. It definitely took me back to this special evening that I had there. Kakabeka Falls is truly “The Niagara of the North”.
After reviewing this image, I was pleased with its uniqueness. The mood of this moment just felt right to capture. I personally have this printed in my apartment, not only because of its natural beauty, but also because of the strong memory that’s behind it.
