I have several long exposure pictures of this location, all showcasing a peaceful and serene atmosphere. However, for this particular picture, I chose to present it as a raw image to capture the ruggedness and otherworldly beauty of the landscape.
Iceland is an incredible place for photography, and every landscape photographer should consider doing the full Ring Road tour. This image was taken toward the end of our journey along the southern and eastern routes, as we headed toward Stokksnes to capture the famous Vestrahorn shots, of which I have some stunning images as well.
I decided to go with this particular shot because I had previously submitted beautiful long exposures taken from inside the cave, looking out. Sometimes, it’s better to capture an image as it is, highlighting all of the rugged details.
