A few years ago, we took a day trip from San Pedro de Atacama to see the Salar de Tara. This image of the salt lake, with Cerros de Incahuasi (the remnants of a volcano) in the background, is a panorama consisting of seven individual photos. The colours of the water, salt, and volcanic activity, along with the dramatic geography shown in this image, are what make visiting the Atacama Desert such a memorable experience.
