I was on a trip, touring many parks in the southwestern United States. The last few nights were going to be at a friend’s house in Las Vegas, so we met one of the friends at Valley of Fire for a hike on the Rainbow Vista Trail. This is an interesting trail, with Petroglyphs, some rock scrambling and a slot canyon.
This shot was taken on the scramble down the rocks into the valley. The scale of the landscapes in the south-west is difficult to imagine. In this photo, if you look closely, you can see some people hiking the trail in front of us.
