We were at the Grand Canyon for two days, touring the South Rim. The canyon is 18 miles wide at its widest point, 277 miles long, and over a mile deep.

In the late afternoon of the first day, we took the shuttle bus west to Pima Point. As the sun slowly lowered, the colours of the canyon warmed and the shadows lengthened. We were totally focused on the sunset, so we were surprised when we turned around to see the nearly full moon rising in the east, providing many great photo opportunities.
