White Sand Desert, Nubra Valley, Ladakh, India

Nubra Valley is situated in a remote northeastern corner of Ladakh. Being a high-altitude desert, its stunning white sand stretches are a popular tourist attraction. The stark white desert, contrasting with the harsh, arid mountains, is absolutely stunning.
Penguin Rock And Juniper Tree, Joshua Tree National Park, California, USA

Tucked away in the vast Mojave Desert, Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California is a landscape unlike any other. I had scouted this location a few times before capturing this image, waiting until the conditions were right — arriving a few hours before sunset to give myself time to work the scene as the […]
Desert Hills, Lake Lagunillas, Antuyo, Peru

In August 2018, we travelled to Peru and Bolivia as members of an organised trip. Peru features a 1,555-mile (2,500 km) long, narrow desert strip along its Pacific coast, making up about 10% of the country and acting as one of the driest places on Earth. For that trip, I carried two identical Olympus cameras, […]
Cold Desert, Ladakh, India

Often called “The Land of High Passes,” Ladakh is India’s most famous cold desert and is known for its barren mountains and crystal-clear lakes, like Pangong Tso, seen in this image. Due to the extremely high altitude, the climate in Ladakh is very dry and cold. There is very little rainfall here, as it lies […]
Great Sand Dunes National Park, Colorado, USA

Hiking with my family at Great Sand Dunes National Park as a storm gathered dramatically over the mountains in the distance.
Dawn On The Racetrack, Death Valley National Park, California, USA

In the few minutes before sunrise, the air was still, the temperature cool, and the rocks were motionless. I had spent the night near the Racetrack Playa of Death Valley to collect star photos. It was late March and, under clear skies at 3700 ft elevation (1126 m), the nights get cold. On this morning, […]
Sunrise At Zabriskie Point, Death Valley National Park, California, USA

There is a specific, fleeting silence that only exists in the high desert moments before the sun breaks the horizon. Standing at Zabriskie Point with my Canon R6 Mark III, I watched the Amargosa Range transform from a silhouette of cold blues into a rhythmic dance of light and shadow. This image isn’t just a […]
Lilied Path Monochrome, Lake Skadar, Montenegro

Some pictures simply whispers that they want to be captured. The water path through the lilies was the voice here. It was too symmetrical to pass up. The problems revolved around shooting from a moving, swaying boat. Shooting at 1/250sec seemed to solve the problem. I simply like the black-and-white effect.
Namib Desert Dust, Hardap, Namibia

Gondwana Namib Desert Lodge at sunset, 100 km from Sossusvlei. Desert dust rises in the evening wind, illuminated by shafts of light that cut across the hills. In one of the world’s oldest deserts, the landscape settles into gold.
Mesquite Sand Dunes Sunrise, Death Valley National Park, California, USA

The alarm clock is a jarring intruder early in the morning, but in Death Valley, the reward for early rising is measured in gold. This image, captured with my Canon R6 Mark II, represents that fleeting moment when the desert transitions from a cold, blue shadow into a living, breathing landscape. The experience Trudging through […]
