Mt. Hood, at 11,249 feet, is the highest peak in the state of Oregon. The town of Sandy, about 25 miles west of Mt. Hood, has unobstructed views of the mountain along a bluff above the Sandy River.
In winter, the Sandy River valley, just below the bluff, is often shrouded in fog. On this particular cold January morning before sunrise, the graceful valley fog was complemented by gorgeous high clouds behind a silhouette of Mt. Hood. A great morning to be alive and witness the beauty of Mother Nature.
