Gyirong Valley is located at the border of Nepal and Tibet. It is lush with vegetation, very different from Tibet’s barren semi-desert landscape. Many mountain peaks surround the region, with the tallest peak, Langbo Kangri, at 6,648 m (21,811 ft) above sea level.
