I planned an early fall visit to Yosemite. I chose a moonless night and aimed to photograph the Milky Way. The best view would be from Olmsted Point. PhotoPills gave me the timing, so I planned the trip for the weekend. Arriving at Yosemite on Friday, I noted that the road to Olmsted Point was closed for the winter due to an early storm the previous Tuesday.
With great disappointment, I made the best of my trip. When I woke up on Saturday, I saw that the road had been cleared and was open. I fortunately arrived at my location on time and was alone to capture the scene. A welcome surprise revealed itself during post-processing!
