I was hiking with a friend in the Connor Pass area, located east of Dingle in County Kerry, when a particular scene caught my eye. The lake is Loch Cruite, situated 200 meters above sea level and the largest of the Paternoster series of lakes on the slopes of Mount Brandon, Ireland’s second-highest mountain, at 952 meters. I have hiked around and above this lake many times, and I found the scene to be magical, especially with the fog descending around it.
