I moved to the state of Arizona not too long ago and have been lacking motivation to take any photos recently. I decided it was time to go out and explore the desert. I had heard of a location called Madera Canyon in southern Arizona from friends, so I finally packed my gear and explored the area.
While exploring the desert, I came across this small cactus that lined up with the canyon and mountain in the background. The sun had just settled, and the sky turned a purple-blue color. The remaining light reflected softly off the mountains. At that point, I decided it was time to take the shot. I was excited, as this was one of my first official photos from a desert landscape.
