Last year, a friend and I decided to hike up to Heybrook Lookout every Friday for sunrise during the winter, as long as the weather was decent. This particular day turned out to be the most memorable of them all. It was a crisp January morning, with clouds passing quickly across the dark sky.
Suddenly, the sky erupted in an explosion of color. The hues kept changing as the clouds moved, creating one of the most stunning sunrises I’ve ever witnessed in the mountains.
