Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump is a UNESCO-designated World Heritage Site that preserves and interprets over 6,000 years of Plains Buffalo culture and the cultural significance of this cliff area to the Plains People.

As this image graphically shows, this is where the foothills of the Rocky Mountains meet the Great Plains of Alberta. This particular site is part of one of the world’s largest, oldest, and best-preserved buffalo jumps.
