Greenfinches (Chloris chloris) are small passerine birds, common and sedentary in mainland Portugal. Some live near my house and, fortunate to me, love eating seeds in my garden. Very easily frightened, they are not easily photographed. I used a CAMTRAPTIONS PIR motion sensor connected to my Canon in order to capture this image.
The adorable bird was eating seeds that were on top of fallen persimmon leaves, now with orange and red tinges, when this photo was taken. I prefer bird images with an identifiable and focused background, rather than without a background (most commonly used), as this allows us to interpret the location and environment where the animal was found.
