Our trip to the remote north-eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh in India last spring was a bit disappointing because of the inclement weather—overcast skies with heavy rainfall. This one scene on our way back, close to the bordering state of Assam, was a bright spot.
The elevation in this state ranges from mountains that are above 7,000 metres (23,000 ft) to towns in the plains with an elevation of less than 300 metres (980 ft).
