I spent a few hours in the afternoon wandering the endless hoodoos in Goblin Valley, Utah. I had been to the location before and, as a landscape photographer, it is pretty overwhelming, with so many hoodoos that blend into the landscape. This makes finding a nice composition very hard.
After exploring for quite a while and having a so-so composition lined up, I decided to wander a little more since I wasn’t fully excited about what I had found so far. I was getting ready to turn around and head to my earlier location for sunset when, just near the end, this composition of the hoodoos sticking up next to one another popped out!
The sun had also been hidden behind the clouds all day, and it peeked through for just a few minutes. I was able to capture a photo I wasn’t expecting but wound up being very happy with!
