Fox Sparrow Singing, Homer, Alaska, USA

Early one crisp spring Alaskan morning, before sunrise, I set out to find birds to photograph in an overgrown lot. The day looked promising, and the first bird I heard was a nearby Fox Sparrow who was quite active, singing his heart out as if welcoming the rising sun.

I positioned myself for some backlit photos to make use of the golden light from the morning and ended up photographing not only the bird but also his beautiful song.
