My first visit to Death Valley was on a workshop, and we ran into a mild sandstorm, which made it inadvisable to wander among the dunes as I usually do. So I looked for compositions from the road and parking area. I got two great shots that day, but this is one of my all-time favourite photos. It captures the ethereal timelessness of the dunes. The clouds and distant mountains all contribute to this ethereal, timeless quality.
