In the spring of 2024, I spent a weekend in a rented cabin in the Catskill Mountains in downstate New York. One of my goals was to photograph the waterfalls in the area. The waterfall closest to my cabin is Diamond Notch Falls. It is about a one-mile hike to the falls, with the trail following the West Kill stream up to the falls. There are many smaller cascades along the stream, which also provide good photographic opportunities.
The falls are not the tallest in the area, at approximately 15 feet high, but they are very picturesque. Photos can be taken from the top of the ravine, or you can climb down the rock face to the lower level of the falls.
