Desolate But Incredibly Beautiful, Tibet

Not sure exactly where this photo was taken on the road. It must have been at a pit stop along the way. We were on our way back from Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar to a town close to the border of Nepal, more than 1,000 km away.

Tibet, often called the Roof of the World, is absolutely a desolate place because of the extreme altitude. But at the same time, it is incredibly beautiful. I have never seen such a combination of desert, rivers, and mountains as in this region.
