Several years ago, one morning in mid-December, I was at my cottage located at Lake Ouareau, two hours north of Montreal.
One morning, through the window, I spotted a beautiful and almost perfect reflection across the lake. It struck me as unusual and unique, so I got dressed and went down to the lakeshore armed with my wide-angle lens.
Normally, at this time of the year, the lake is frozen, but this was an exception. The difference in temperature between the water and the colder morning air produced a lovely patch of fog.
For the first time, I contemplated an unbelievably colored fog!
Handheld, I composed and framed the image using a 36 mm focal length.
In post-production, I did not manipulate the colors! Once again, I was very happy to have my gear on hand to capture this beautiful moment.
