Colorado River reflections peak near Moab in early June. Spring runoff from the nearby La Sal Mountain Range, caused by melting snow, raises the water level significantly. On a day with no wind, it can seem like a mirror.
Mid-afternoon is a nice time to visit Potash Road, located just west of town. The road follows the Colorado River closely for several miles.
In ancient times, the Ancestral Puebloan people lived here and sought shade from the high canyon walls.
