The Last Bastion, Adda River, Lombardia, Italy

During cold winter dawns, the Adda River is shrouded in a thick layer of mist, turning the landscape into a magical and mysterious realm. Through the dense clouds, a lonely treetop emerges, captured by the first warm rays of the sun rising from behind the mountains.
Little Egypt, Hansville, Garfield County, Utah, USA

We’d left my brother’s place in Kanab days ago, fresh off a fantastic visit. The plan was flawless: a leisurely, photogenic sweep through Capitol Reef and then a restful, non-dramatic stay in Hanksville. Hanksville itself was… an experience. It felt like we’d accidentally time-travelled into a 1950s atomic-bunker diorama. The real target, however, was Little […]
White Sands in Monochrome, New Mexico, USA

I arrived late in the afternoon, and the wind was quite strong. I was intrigued by the dust clouds in the distance and the dramatic sky. I thought these, coupled with the rippled sand in the foreground, would make for a dramatic combination.
After Sunset, Agropoli, Cilento Coast, Italy

Right after sunset, I waited for the blue hour to get a longer exposure and better highlight the rocks in the foreground. In the background, in the distance, are the Amalfi Coast and Capri on the left.
Beautiful Desolation, Tibet

Another stunning view of the desert with the snow-capped mountain in the background. The driver of the bus we were on would stop now and then so we could stretch our legs. The journey to Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar is nearly 1,000 km and takes about two days to cover the distance.
Full Tilt, Oatman Road, Old Route 66, Arizona, USA

John Steinbeck called Route 66 “the mother road, the road of flight,” and along the stretch between Oatman and Topock, the phrase still resonates with the landscape. Full Tilt was captured during magic hour, when the sun slips behind the Black Mountains and the hardpan exhales the day’s heat. Light saturates the desert—pavement amber, scrub […]
Between The Cathedrals, Praia das Catedrais, Galicia, Spain

This was a lovely morning at Praia das Catedrais in Galicia. With the tide being low, it was possible to walk between the sea stacks and capture some long exposures.
Desolate But Incredibly Beautiful, Tibet

Not sure exactly where this photo was taken on the road. It must have been at a pit stop along the way. We were on our way back from Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar to a town close to the border of Nepal, more than 1,000 km away. Tibet, often called the Roof of the […]
Early Winter Reflections, Strathcona Park, Vancouver Island, BC, Canada

Thelwood Creek, located in Strathcona Park and flowing into Buttle Lake on Vancouver Island, is one of my favorite places to photograph. I visit the area during all four seasons. At this time, in January, I was there to find some winter scenes. Although not much snow was seen, there was an abundance of fall […]
Sedona Desert Streambed, Oak Creek, AZ, USA

I traveled to the US Southwest in October with some friends. Our first day was in the Sedona area, but actually just south of Sedona in the small town of Oak Creek. The famous Bell Rock was about a mile from our hotel. We spent the late afternoon and evening exploring the area around Bell […]
