The brown fish owl is a quiet bird that roosts in hidden spots that are difficult to detect, as they usually seek out concealed, inaccessible areas. If you’re lucky and encounter one, make as little movement as possible. The bird will give you every opportunity to photograph it, sometimes with its eyes closed and half-asleep; sometimes it opens its bright yellow eyes and stares at you, looking as if it’s about to leave. It’s very rewarding to observe this bird in its natural habitat.
