Beuzec-Cap-Sizun is a French commune in the Finistère department in the Brittany region and is also a nature reserve overlooking the Bay of Douarnenez.

The coastline is composed of numerous cliffs and headlands (from east to west, the headlands of Kerivoal, Lesven, Luguénez, Beuzec, with the fortified promontory of Castel-Coz, Trénaouret, and Millier follow one another), interspersed with a few beaches.

This unique and wild coastline makes it particularly appealing to landscape photographers. Another attraction of the region is the constantly changing weather, which transforms the landscape entirely depending on the season and the tides.

Even if you have planned everything in advance and the weather forecast predicts a stunning sunset, but the sky is completely overcast when you leave, believe me, go anyway; it’s worth it. This photo was taken at the end of June, a time when you expect a beautiful blue sky and a clearly visible sunset, but that evening, things were very different.

Knowing the area well, I went anyway, and I didn’t regret it, as the sun eventually broke through the cloud cover. But even before sunset, as in this photo, you can play with contrasts and the many natural foreground elements, and accentuate the dramatic aspect with a long exposure (8 seconds in this case).
