When driving to the Schallenberg Pass (1168m), a mountain pass connecting Marbach and Steffisburg, I was captivated by a wonderful landscape before reaching the highest point: the Emmental valley. This area is a mosaic of extensive rolling pastures, meadows, typical Emmental farmhouses, and small coniferous forests. The region boasts excellent conditions for the dairy industry, as the original Emmental cheese is produced here, which dominates the local economy.
The sky was hazy, yet there were clearings that created patches of illuminated and shadowy landscapes, resulting in a striking visual and aesthetic effect. Although the noise from heavy motorcycle traffic was present, the view remained pleasant due to the vast panorama visible from the pass.
To capture this breathtaking scene, four images taken side-by-side were stitched together to create a panorama. The camera was set to manual mode and mounted on a tripod, with minimal post-processing applied.
