This photograph was taken in Slovenia, in one of the locations I return to most often. It’s a place that perfectly combines the calm of rural life with the majesty of the surrounding mountains. On that day, autumn was near its end, and the colours were starting to fade into deeper, quieter tones. I spent several hours observing how the light interacted with the landscape, waiting for the right balance between brightness and shadow.
