I was up here with a one-to-one workshop client one afternoon. The colours were amazing. This location would normally be better shot in the morning, when the light comes from the other direction, because from the right you get the elongated shadow of the house on the grass.
However, the broken cloud was not only diffusing the intensity of the light, but also casting patchy shadows, which we could then use to our advantage. With a strong grad on the sky, it was a case of waiting for the sun to go behind a cloud and for the foreground to fall into shade, while the rest of the scene remained lit. Patience paid off here.
