My interest in nature photography started at an early age. It came from growing up on the scenic New Jersey shore and tinkering with the Brownie camera my father gave me. My summers were spent roaming central Jersey's beaches, sand dunes, and lagoons. Ah, I miss those days. The beauty of our world expanded for me as a teen when my family moved to Southern California. Whenever possible, my friends and I wandered the creeks, beaches and backcountry of Santa Barbara. California became a nature wonderland for me. As a boy scout, I was introduced to the Sierra Nevada. I have been backpacking every summer in the Sierra ever since.
